The 52nd “Essen Motor Show” in Essen, Germany, is a show of “Automobiles, Motorsport, Tuning, Classics, Show and Action” and expects more than 500 exhibitors and more than 300,000 visitors this year. The show takes place from 29th November (preview day) to 8th December this year.
The 38th Classic & Prestige Salon – showing vintage and classic cars – as part of this Essen Motor Show took place in 2018 for the 38th time and was a great success for the organizer. So the Classic and Prestige Salon this year will occupy two of the eight halls at the Essen Motor Show in 2019 on 17,000 square meters in Hall 1 and Hall 2. Here you will find more than 250 classic car offers from renowned dealers, e.g. from Brabus Classic, located in Bottrop, and international offerings of classic cars, young classics, historic motor racing, vintage, classic, and prestige automobiles.
Highlights of this vintage and classic car exhibition are three special shows.
Classic and Race Car Special Shows
- Powerful classic super sports cars from five decades
- Classic movie cars from cinema and television
- Spectacular racing touring cars of the “Touring Car Legends” race series
Super Sports Cars from Five Decades
The special show “Super Sports Cars from Five Decades” will be presented in Hall 1. One highlight is the display of all three generations of the legendary Ford GT40 (lately seen in the movie “Ford v Ferrari”, “Le Mans 66”).
Other supercars include such as the first Koenigsegg built, or, to match the 110th anniversary of the brand, a Bugatti EB 110 and the Bugatti Chiron.
Movie Cars on Display
For friends of German motion pictures the tuned Opel Manta from “Manta, Manta” will be shown in Hall 2.
On display as well will be the legendary De Lorean with “Fluxkompensator” from the trilogy “Back to the Future”.
Furthermore, the “Tumbler” from the movie “Batman Begins” from the year 2005 will make a splash in Essen.
The legendary K.I.T.T. (“Knight Industries Two Thousand”), a modified, black Pontiac Firebird Trans Am that can think, speak, drive and played one of the leading roles in the American TV series “Knight Rider”, will be shown.
Racing Series “Touring Car Legends”
In this racing series – founded in January of this year – till now six races with touring cars of the 1980s and 1990s were held in 2019. The motto of this racing series is “Racing with Friends”. The touring car special show of the Classic & Prestige Salon presents cars such as the Audi V8, the Mercedes-Benz 190 2.5-16 Evo 1 and Evo 2, as well as a hot Fiat Ritmo, an Alfa Romeo 75 and other rarities.
Sidney Hoffmann’s Classic Cars
The professional car tuner Sidney Hoffmann presents his new classic division of automobiles unique in the typical Sidney Industries look – including a Nissan Skyline GTR, a Porsche 964 and 993 and a Volkswagen VW Golf I. This is a performance that fans of tuned and refined classic cars and young classics will inspire.
Concours d’Elégance
In order to give the international classic dealers an additional incentive to present only the best of the best of their offer in Essen, there is traditionally once again this year a Concours d’Elégance. A jury of internationally renowned classic car experts will choose the most interesting car from the dealership offer to “Best of Show”.
